Mr Waterman

“Hello, my name is Mr Waterman and I am Morehall Primary’s Year 5 teacher. I specialise in English Language, Literature and Performing Arts. For the past nine years, I have worked in a variety of school settings across Key Stages 2-5 and in FAHE, delivering a range of National Curriculum projects and extracurricular engagement.

I am passionate about theatre, literature, music and film and spend much of my free time watching and reading plays.

I love reading stories and employ a wide range of well-intended, yet dubious accents for characters from books. My favourite story in recent years to share with children is Morpurgo’s modern classic, Private Peaceful – a harrowing story of bravery, camaraderie and sacrifice, set in The Great War.

In the future, I aspire to become a children’s novelist and hope to find inspiration to put pen to page each and every day whilst working with learners at Morehall Primary.”

About Malala Yousafzi

Malala Yousafzai defied the Taliban as a young girl in Pakistan and demanded that girls be allowed to receive an education. For her activism, she was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman in 2012, but survived and went on to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Malala Yousafzai’s book, “I Am Malala,” became an international bestseller.
