Turner Morehall Year 6- Barack Obama

Year 6- Barack Obama

Our adults

Mrs Moris

“Hello, I am Mrs Moris – Vice Principal and Year 6 teacher at Morehall Primary. My favourite subjects to teach are English, History and music (I play the viola, piano and I like to sing!). My favourite book to read with my class is “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas” by John Boyne. It is expertly written and delves into such an important period in world history that we should continue to learn lessons from and never forget. Being a former pupil of Morehall myself, I am privileged to now be working here and inspiring children to reach their aspirations, just as my teachers did.”

Miss Barrow (R)

“Hello, I’m Miss Barrow and alongside being one of the Vice Principals at Morehall I teach year 6.

Maths is my favourite subject and I love nothing more than challenging my class to a good mathematical problem which leaves them thinking for days!

This year I have really enjoyed reading ‘Street Child’ with my class, though when we have the opportunity to spend time reading a picture book my all-time favourite is a beautiful story called ‘The Big Ugly Monster and the Little Stone Rabbit’ which can make any audience smile, frown, laugh and even cry sometimes!”

About Barack Obama

Barack Obama served as the 44th President of the US from 2009 to 2017. Obama passed several bills, which sought to extend welfare support and help the economy to recover from the Financial and Economic Crisis of 2009. His primary legislation included health care reform (Protection and Affordable Care Act), and The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Obama also approved a major bailout of the automobile industry. In Foreign Policy, Obama sought to end the war in Iraq, though he committed military support to combat the growing presence of IS in Iraq and Syria. Obama also signed up to the 2015 Paris Climate Change Agreement. Despite a fractious political system, Obama was noted for retaining a dignified and calm demeanour, seeking to unite the country in the face of divisive issues. He is widely regarded as a charismatic speaker – frequently speaking on the ideals of hope and optimism.
