Reception Class Admission 2025
Our social action plan focuses on three areas: Recycling, Litter Picking and Biodiversity.
Throughout the school year we take part in activities covering these three areas.
We have introduced recycling bins into every classroom, office and communal area of the school.
In addition to the recycling bins, the schools have revolutionised how they treat food waste. This will now be collected and go on to be processed. The processed waste will then become fuel pellets with 80% energy efficient return.
As well as making everything look better, litter picking has environmental benefits too. Litter that is recycled or correctly disposed of prevents wildlife from getting hurt. It also prevents their habitats from being disturbed and prevents plastics from breaking down and entering the food chain as microplastics. Throughout the year classes have visiting their areas in their local community to pick up litter.
Our third focus is Biodiversity. Biodiversity is all the different kinds of life you'll find in one area—the variety of animals, plants, fungi, and even microorganisms like bacteria that make up our natural world.
We have added rewilding areas to the playing field, added more bee friendly plants to the front playground.
We also monitor animals that visit our garden via a wildlife camera.
